Duetto Chat is a 1-on-1 chat site for talking to people you've never met. It's been running since 2015 and it's simple on purpose. Here's the thinking behind it, so you know what you're getting into before you send your first message.
One conversation at a time, by design
The name says it: a duet is two people. No group rooms, no public channels, no audience. Every chat on Duetto Chat is between you and one other person. You can keep two chats open at once on the free version (five with PLUS), but each one is still private.
No friend lists, no feed, no algorithm
Most social apps want you to build a network and then feed you content from it. Duetto Chat doesn't. There's a discover page showing who's online and matches your filters, and there's your chat list. That's the whole app. Nothing is ranked by engagement; it's simply who's here right now.
You choose the medium and the pace

Filters instead of luck

Anonymous by default, accountable by design
Start as a guest with no email or phone number and use whatever name you like. Other chatters never see your contact details or exact location. At the same time, the house rules apply to everyone, moderation runs around the clock, reports are reviewed within minutes, and photos are checked before delivery. The minimum age is 18.
